Leverage Your Personal Brand and Find Your Confidence
Do you fear being yourself? I get it. It took me years to recognize the need to develop a personal brand but when I did, I gained so much confidence!!! I used to be afraid of NOT KNOWING what to do. I thought there was some unspoken rule of engagement I should be following, so I was always afraid of doing anything. By the time we become adults, we have a complete set of personal baggage. It’s full of the negative tapes we’ve listen to that tell us what we CAN’T do. It takes a drastic mindset shift to unlearn those “projections” and change the behavior.
It took a bad experience, in a place I didn’t want to be, to teach me the art of introspection. If you’ve ever heard me speak, you may have heard me talk about my “Wilderness” experience and how it became the catalyst for the solution I offer my students and clients today. The experience forced me to look through that personal baggage and remove all the negativity. Once I did, I was able to repack my bags with the authentic and organic elements of ME! I’m proof you don’t have to be afraid of being yourself. As a matter of fact, you can leverage your personal brand to find your confidence and apply it to everything.
In a recent trip to Cabo, for my 50th birthday, I was reminded of those moments of insecurity. Where I used to doubt myself and be overcome with so much negativity, I’ve now found my stride and know my value.
I was struck with an overwhelming sense of pride when it dawned on me (during a vacation villa tour) that I could make the down payment for the vacation villa with the money I’d made from growing my business…

This revelation was further confirmation that the process I teach to my students WORKS! I think it’s important to remind them that they don’t have to be afraid of who they are. We all have value, but sometimes we have to wade through the personal baggage to erase and rerecord our tape.
