You’ve heard it, I’ve said it and (in some capacity or another) we’ve all applied it to the way we think about money… The saying, “Money don’t grow on trees”. Well, this train of thought may be antiquated because according to an article in The New York Times titled, “Learning to Think Outside the Box”, the idea of creativity is becoming an academic discipline. The article discusses institutions of higher learning like Drexel University and Kentucky University are exploring the idea that Creative Studies are worthy of degree. The future professionals and entrepreneurs of our country will be approaching problem solving more creatively than we’ve seen in the past. What does this have to do with money growing on trees, you ask??
WELL….
What if we were to apply this out of the box thinking to our finances? What if we threw caution to the wind and tossed the way we’ve been taught to think about money (or not taught, whatever the case may be) out the window and look at it more creatively. My guest on the podcast this week asks that of us. Money may not grow on trees, but that doesn’t mean that tree can’t make you money.
What would happen if we actually took our “Money Story” into account when planning our financial game plan (I told you… out of the box thinking)? What if we were honest with ourselves about our habits and preferences?
This week on my podcast, I’m talking with Jillian Verdun, The Profit Strategist. She’s sharing her expert knowledge and the art of putting PROFIT FIRST.
She will:
-
Help you make money FUN AGAIN.
-
Share tips on how to LEVERAGE HABITS
-
Give you her #1 tip for SAVING
Money may not ACTUALLY grow on trees, but (in one capacity or another) we all need it to make our dreams come true. It’s important to know and understand your current relationship with money AND the ultimate goals for your financial future. BACK TO THAT CREATIVE THINKING… As professionals/entrepreneurs, we’d like to think we have complete control of our habits, reactions, and intentions.
The truth is, however, I bet you’ll have major light bulb moments about your financial habits. Like me, you’ll start to realize your habits, reactions and intentions haven’t been the best. WARNING: you may have a hard time finishing the episode because you want to get started on the changes needed to reach your financial freedom but resist and stick around for the whole thing. You don’t want to miss ANYTHING…Jillian has a lot of interesting things coming down the pipeline you’ll want to hear about.
Oh yeah…
