So often I find myself thinking about what it takes for me to BE… and DO... my best. To be in leadership. I am constantly looking for ways to improve, grow, simplify. Part of that for me, is meeting and learning from amazing people. This week’s episode of P. B. & Style is the perfect example of what happens when you put yourself out there and JUST ASK for what you want.
Around October of last year, I was supporting a good friend during an event for her networking group. I was at the bar grabbing a drink (water of course – wink wink) when I struck up a conversation with a very nice lady. The conversation started out innocently enough, “Hello, how are you? Where are you from? What do you do? —- BINGO!!! From that simple an organic conversation (Me being me), I found myself building a collaborative relationship with a LEADERSHIP expert. Elena’s background is extensive, but what lit my fire was the fact that she is now a LEADERSHIP/ Passion & Purpose Coach. It just so happened, I needed one of those. I needed HER to participate in an upcoming event and didn’t know it until THAT moment.
Cards were exchanged, emails were sent and calls were made but the end result is this amazing podcast interview AND Elena being one of the amazing people sharing their individual leadership accomplishments during my L3 SUMMIT coming up at the end of the month.
I WASN’T AFRAID TO ASK FOR WHAT I WANTED AND IT WORKED OUT!
TWEETABLE: Leadership is knowing no person is an island, and having enough confidence in your value to steer the ship and navigate the waters.
