The Key To Being Yourself To Get What You Want
The key to being yourself to get what you want isn’t a difficult one to understand, the difficulty is in being willing to put in the work to do it. Have you ever heard the term “Personal Brand” used in your industry? Depending on where you heard it and in what context, you’re idea of it may be slightly skewed. In this VIDEO, I’m sharing tips for effective personal branding along with THE BEST definition for the term.
I struggled with imposter syndrome for years. Even now, there are times I find myself questioning my qualifications. The truth is, I am often over qualified for the projects but I allow negative tapes to play in my head. Do you struggle with that too? Your personal brand is just a fancy way to label who you are and how you want the world to see you. The key is to do some introspection to determine 4 things:
- Your strengths
- Where your limitations lie
- What you truly desire
- and any non-negotiables
This framework is what I like to use for my clients to help them remain consistent in creating circumstances of optimal success, manage expectations, and set appropriate boundaries. The majority of the struggles my clients have faced with their business, career, and/or their personal life revolve around not having a strategy to manage these 3 areas.
Marketing and leadership both begin with a foundation in awareness. Self-awareness, brand awareness, and audience awareness are intertwined. If you don’t know how to relate to your audience, you can’t attract, engage and/or influence them.
Marketing
is the act of satisfying and retaining customers. It is executed in a myriad of ways. The key to each is attracting an ideal audience to achieve an ideal result.
Leadership
is the successful result of a goal through one’s influence and direction. This success is based on one’s understanding of an individual or groups needs.
If you agree with these definitions, being successful at either requires building a solid personal brand. It also requires having a clear strategy to leverage that personal brand.
The key to being yourself to get what you want is developing your personal brand and having a strategy to leverage it.
